Terms of Service
Version 0.1 (pre-pilot) - effective 12 October 2026
This is a pre-pilot version. Before the ChemResults pilot starts in January 2027, we will publish version 1.0, which adds who runs ChemResults, and ask you to agree to it the next time you sign in.
These terms are the rules for using ChemResults. By creating an account, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. Please read both.
Who we are
In these terms, "we" and "us" means ChemResults. Contact us at admin@chemresults.com.
Who can use ChemResults
- You must be 13 or older.
- If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to use ChemResults. By agreeing to these terms, you confirm that you have it.
- If your school has an agreement with us, your school has agreed to you using ChemResults. These terms still apply to you.

Using ChemResults properly
When you use ChemResults, including ChemChat, you agree not to:
- share personal information about yourself or anyone else, such as phone numbers, addresses or email addresses
- try to make ChemChat say harmful or inappropriate things, or try to get round its safety checks
- use ChemChat for anything other than learning chemistry
- harass, bully or upset anyone, including through assessments you share
- try to get into other people's accounts or parts of ChemResults you are not allowed to use
- copy large amounts of content, or use automated tools to download it
- break the law, or help anyone else to
We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. If we can, we will tell you why.
Feedback and ChemChat
When you answer a question, ChemResults first shows you feedback that has been written, or reviewed and approved, by teachers. It explains why the correct answer is right, and the misconception or miscalculation behind each wrong answer.
ChemChat, our AI tutor, comes second. It answers your follow-up questions, using the question and its teacher-approved feedback as its guide. AI is usually accurate, but ChemChat's additional explanations may contain occasional errors. If an explanation doesn't match the teacher-approved feedback, go with the feedback, or ask your teacher.
ChemChat is a study aid. It supports your teacher; it doesn't replace them.
ChemChat has a daily message limit, which may change.
Questions and content
- Some practice questions are taken from past Cambridge International AS & A Level Chemistry (9701) exam papers. The copyright in them belongs to Cambridge University Press & Assessment. Teacher-written feedback and the rest of ChemResults' content belong to us.
- ChemResults is not made, endorsed or approved by Cambridge University Press & Assessment. "Cambridge International" is their trademark.
- You may use ChemResults' content for your own study, and teachers may use it with their classes. Don't republish or sell it.
- Assessments you create are yours. By sharing one, you allow the people you share it with to see and use it in ChemResults.
Free and paid features
ChemResults is free during the pilot. We plan to offer paid subscriptions later. If we do, we will tell you the price and terms before you pay, and you will never be charged without agreeing first.
Changes to ChemResults and these terms
We are improving ChemResults all the time, so features may change or be removed. If we change these terms, we will update the version number and date at the top. If the change is important, we will ask you to agree to the new version the next time you sign in.
Closing your account
You can stop using ChemResults at any time. To delete your account, email us from the address you signed up with (see "Your choices and rights" in our Privacy Policy).
Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep ChemResults accurate and available, but we provide it "as it is". We can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that using it will improve your exam results. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by using ChemResults, or by not being able to use it. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have by law that can't be removed.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in another part of the UK or another country, you keep any rights your local law gives you, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
